Vieri Only Has Victory On His Mind

      10 June 2002 : Italy's most positive player so far, super striker Cristian Vieri, believes the Mexico clash will be a test for the knock-out phase, if Italy ever make it there.

"Just like in the knock-out phase, only one result will be possible against Mexico, and that is the win. We will go onto the pitch without doing any calculations, and will try to give it 100%. We know also Mexico will be playing for the three points, so it will be a very interesting match," said Vieri, who scored three goals in the tournament so far.

They would have been four if the Croatia match linesman didn't disallow a perfectly legal goal when the score will still scoreless.
"Yes, I don't believe we played badly against Croatia, we actually scored three goals, and hit a post. A draw would have been the fairest result," added the Inter hit-man.
